Day 1: The Start of My Triathlon Journey – Sweat, Sprints, and Swims!

Today marks Day 1 of an incredible journey - training for my first triathlon. The air was electric with possibility, and the fire within me burned brighter than ever. I’ve set my sights on conquering the challenge that brings together three disciplines: biking, swimming, and running. It's the ultimate test of endurance, grit, and determination - and I’m all in.

Interval Bike: 40 Minutes of Pure Adrenaline

I kicked off the day with a 40-minute interval bike session, featuring six 20-second sprints. As I pedaled, all I could feel was the thrill of the ride. Each sprint was a battle against my limits, my legs screaming for relief as I pushed harder, faster, and stronger.

It was freedom, power, and progress. Every second of those sprints reminded me that greatness doesn’t come from comfort zones; it’s forged in the fire of effort. And today, I was on fire.

Interval Swim: Making Waves, One Stroke at a Time

After the bike session, it was time to dive into the water- literally. I swam in our YMCA. My swim training consisted of 8 x 25m intervals, making up a total of 1,000 meters. The pool was my battlefield, and the laps were my milestones.

The rhythm of each stroke felt hypnotic, yet purposeful. Every push against the water was a reminder of why I’m doing this - not just to cross the finish line, but to transform myself. The cool water soothed my body, but my mind stayed laser-focused. With each lap, I could feel myself getting stronger, my form improving, and my determination solidifying.

Reflections from Day 1: The Journey Begins

Day 1 wasn’t just a workout - it was a declaration. A declaration to myself and the universe that I’m ready to embrace the fun of it. Training for a triathlon isn’t just about physical strength; it’s about mental toughness, resilience, and showing up for yourself every single day.

As I cooled down, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride. This was the first step of many, but it was a big one. The journey ahead will be challenging, no doubt. There will be days when my muscles ache, when the alarm clock feels too early, and when doubts creep in. But today? Today was victory.

The Road Ahead: Unstoppable

Triathlon training is a marathon, not a sprint - except when you’re doing 20-second bike sprints like I did today. 😉 But one thing’s for sure: I’m all in. This journey is about proving to myself that I am capable of greatness, that I can push beyond my limits and achieve what once seemed impossible.

So here’s to Day 1, to every drop of sweat, to every stroke in the pool, and to every pedal of the bike. The path ahead is long, but I’ve already taken the first step - and it feels amazing.

If you’ve ever dreamed of taking on a challenge like this, let this be your sign. Start now, start small, but start. Because every great journey begins with a single step - or, in my case, a sprint and a splash. 🚴‍♀️🏊‍♂️

Stay tuned for more updates as I conquer this triathlon training, one day at a time. Let’s go! 💪✨

Tomorrow is an easy 5 mile run! Yum.
